Mint 22, also known as "Wilma", is a Linux distribution based on Linux
Mint 22 “Wilma” LTS, the latest long-term support release of Ubuntu. It
includes newer versions of apps, tools, and packages than Linux Mint 21. Some
say that Linux Mint 22 is the best release of Linux Mint they've used, and that
it's worth upgrading to from version 21.
Here are some of the new features in Linux Mint 22:
·Kernel 6.8: This kernel, along with the hardware enablement stack, improves support for newer hardware.
· Pipewire: The default sound server is now Pipewire.
· Software sources: Support for the Debian DEB822 format is now available.
· Themes: Themes have been updated to support GTK4, though they only work with non-libadwaita GTK4 apps.
· HiDPI support: Improvements have been made to HiDPI support in the boot sequence, in Plymouth, and in Slick-Greeter.
· Nemo: The Cinnamon file manager's Layout Editor has been updated.
· Wayland support: Wayland support has been improved.
· Thunderbird: Thunderbird is still available as a native .deb app.
